Death at the Chicago Marathon
The running of the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon run this past Sunday, October 7, 2007 was run in the significant heat. About 45,000 runners registered; about 10,000 did not participate due to the heat; another 10,000 + did not finish. The organizers even called off the race. One runner died and it was originally thought the death was due to the heat. However, an autopsy found a heart problem.
