Runner Injuries

Running brings the potential of injuries. Some of these are simply due the constant stress placed upon the structural system. Other injuries are a result of "owner-operator" mistakes or carelessness. Poor training, lack of knowledge, or plain egocentric attitude can lead to injuries. Below are a few of the many sites dedicated to helping us all manage our physical/structural system while we enjoy running.

*Injuries A-Z. Offered by Runner's World with excellent links to injury description and treatment.
*Runners Rescue. Contains a good listing of possible injuries and suggestions.
*Common Injuries in Runners. Tips to avoid running injuries offered by About.com.
*Prevention of Running Injuries. Offered by SportsInjuryClinic.net containing recommended treatments for injuries.
*The Anatomy Of A Runner. Runner's World in UK describes the body's components and how they become damaged.

We all know prevention is the best medicine, but if an injury happens, do not forget the basic first aid advise for injury offered by Runner's World RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation).
